Overview

This 5-day Ndutu Wildebeest Safari takes you deep into the southern Serengeti and Ndutu region, where the great migration herds gather to calve between December and March. It combines the excitement of predator action with the breathtaking landscapes of Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, and the Ndutu plains.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at JRO – Golden Crest Hotel


Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be met by your driver-guide and transferred to Gold Crest Hotel in Arusha. The evening is yours to rest and prepare for the safari ahead.

Arusha, nestled at the foot of Mount Meru, is the perfect gateway to Tanzania's northern safari circuit. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Furaha Luxury Lodge


After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. The park is home to diverse wildlife, including giraffes, lions, leopards, and over 500 bird species.

In the afternoon, continue your game drive before heading to Furaha Luxury Lodge. Relax with a sundowner, followed by dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by nature.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Ndutu – Sero Tented Camp


Today you'll drive into the Ndutu area, part of the southern Serengeti and Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Between December and March, this region hosts the wildebeest calving season, where thousands of young are born – attracting predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas.

Arrive at Sero Tented Camp, your comfortable base close to the migration herds. In the evening, enjoy dinner by the campfire and fall asleep to the sounds of the bush.

Day 4: Full Day in Ndutu – Sero Tented Camp


Spend a full day exploring the Ndutu plains, following the herds as they graze and give birth. The open landscapes provide excellent opportunities for spotting predator-prey interactions.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild, maximizing your time with the migration. In the evening, return to Sero Tented Camp for another night under the stars.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha (End of Tour)


After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa's most spectacular wildlife destinations. The crater floor is home to elephants, hippos, lions, buffalo, and the endangered black rhino.

Later, ascend the crater rim and drive back to Arusha, where your safari ends with a drop-off at the airport or your hotel.
